AMS Performance is pleased to announce our entry into the 2016 Mercedes-Benz C63 AMG / 4.0L BiTurbo V8 aftermarket. As we patiently await for our new model 2016 C63 AMG (W205) development car to arrive from Mercedes-Benz, TopSpeed Motorsports was generous enough to lend us their 2016 C63 AMG Special Edition to complete baseline testing and CMM scanning in order to lay the groundwork for product development under the Alpha Performance line.
The rear-wheel drive 2016 C63 AMG is equipped with the all-new Mercedes-Benz 4.0L V8 Biturbo (M178) engine. The standard C63 comes with 469HP/479lb-ft while the C63S model shown here has 503HP/516lb-ft. This new engine was designed to be a more efficient power plant on a number of Mercedes-Benz AMG platforms currently powered by the naturally aspirated 6.2L V8 and the 5.5L V8 Biturbo. Statements by Mercedes regarding the responsiveness of the M178 engine indicate that it should yield excellent results once reflashed with our very own written Alpha ECU Calibration. Once the calibration file is complete, our engineers will then determine the upgrades necessary to meet the requirements of our Alpha 7 and Alpha 9 Performance Packages our most popular performance upgrade packages that produce 700+ horsepower and 900+ horsepower respectively.
Alpha Performance product development for the 2016 C63 AMG has already begun, and although we do not have any CAD rendered models to show at the moment, 2016 C63 AMG owners can likely expect the release of Alpha Performance components similar to the 5.5L Biturbo V8 parts linked here: downpipes, exhaust system, turbo cooler system, heat exchanger, carbon fiber intake system & turbo upgrade
