Job Mission

As an Account Executive for AMS, you will be interacting directly with performance shops and distributors to educate, promote, and sell AMS products that help their customers achieve their goals. Other responsibilities will include social media posts, prospecting for new dealers and accounts, and interacting with other AMS employees to help trouble shoot issues, coming up with meaningful results that lead to satisfied customers. There will also be events that you will be attend to help represent and promote the AMS brand such as car shows, races, tradeshows, product training sessions, and more.

An ideal candidate will have an affinity for cars with aftermarket performance industry experience, work as a good teammate with the ability to overcome challenges through critical thinking, and be driven to meet and exceed sales goals. The candidate will also be responsible for entering and tracking sales through our tracking system, educating dealers on our new wholesale portal, participating in sales calls to continually build relationships and inform members of our distribution network of all the latest and greatest things AMS. They will be a brand ambassador for AMS that identifies and takes on opportunities that present themselves to help our distribution network members continue to grow with AMS.

Role & Responsibilities

Prospect

  • Identify and pursue new wholesale opportunities through various channels, including targeting potential new dealers, distribution networks, industry events, and more.
  • Stay in continual contact with existing dealers to further build relationships with a focus on mutually beneficial growth
  • Identify where AMS’ engineered solutions can help our existing distribution network customers achieve their current and future clients’ goals

Connect

  • Handle inbound wholesale inquiries
  • Respond to and follow up on inbound wholesale leads/inquiries
  • Receive and explore wholesale lead opportunities from AMS Social Media channels (pre-vetted by our marketing team)
  • Create social media posts that drive awareness for AMS products and services within relevant communities

Qualify

  • Confirm that the needs of a dealer’s/distributor’s clientele aligns with AMS’ engineered solutions
  • Identify short-term and long-term goals related to the wholesale client’s business
  • Conduct qualification questionnaires to understand the challenges, desired outcomes, and short & long-term objectives of prospective wholesale clients gaining access to the AMS brand

Propose

  • Develop comprehensive solution tailored to the wholesale client’s challenges, desired outcomes, and short & long-term objectives.
  • Verify inventory availability to ensure the availability of products/services
  • When necessary, work with purchasing/production to create needed parts/kits
  • Check with the shop to assure the timeline & deliverables are in line
  • Create considerate proposals that lead to and secure sales in the form of performance packages direct-to approved installers, drop ships direct to end-users for e-commerce dealers, and strategically incentivized stocking orders to our distributors

Serve:

  • Provide an exceptional customer experience to our wholesale clients
  • Act as the primary point of contact between wholesale clients and AMS
  • Proactively communicate and provide status updates to wholesale clients on the progress of their orders, deliveries, etc, until our new dealer portal is online
  • Resolve problems and conflicts, including assisting in the handling of warranty issues or completing a thoughtful handoff to our customer service representatives
  • Address technical questions by either resolving them or gathering initial information and completing the handoff to the technical support team

Experience

  • Previous aftermarket automotive performance sales experience highly preferred
  • Experience managing dealers and distributors in a wholesale setting preferred
  • Written CommunicationIs able to write clearly and succinctly in a variety of communication settings and styles
  • Maintains technical knowledge and skills to perform this role at a high level
  • Capable of learning new industry, company, product, and technical knowledge
  • Proficient in QuickBooks as well as Microsoft Office including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
  • Attentive to detail and organized bookkeeping
  • Presentation skills to small and large groups
  • Ability to articulate technical information
  • CRM management
