R&D Technician

We are looking for a motivated and experienced full time Research & Development Technician. The ideal candidate must be self-driven, hardworking and have a solid understanding of high-performance combustion engines. You must be a team player, and work well with others. Primary Responsibilities

  • Manage 3D printing & prototype production
  • Prototype & product installation fitment reports
  • Vehicle disassembly and system function analysis
  • Work hand in hand with design engineers to create AMS products, educating on the technical perspective
  • Offer ideas for improvement and efficiencies to product designs
  • Write instructions for inspection, kitting/assembly, and installation
  • Product BOM (Bill of material) review and confirmation
  • Provide support and training to the manufacturing, fabrication, kitting/assembly, and packaging teams

Qualifications and/or Requirements

  • Possess 2-5+ years technician experience in motorsport, aerospace, premium automotive, or any comparable mechanical skill.
  • Works competently without frequent supervision once acclimated to the team and process
  • Asks good, earnest questions
  • Has a solid understanding of automotive powertrain and electrical systems
  • Is adaptable, enthusiastic, and goal oriented.
  • Can write clearly and concisely, breaking down technical steps for stakeholders to understand – such as salespeople, installers, and in house assembly & fabrication team members
  • Ensures delegated tasks are completed on time and efficiently
  • Ensures priorities and details of the project are clearly communicated to R&D team members
