Ryan Upham’s Evo VIII places second in first MCSCC event- unlimited class!

This past memorial day was the first even of the year for the MCSCC. It was held at Blackhawk farms in Rockton IL. This was my first event in the All Race class, This class is basically anything goes. Any car, mod, tire…. unlimited as it gets. Well at first I didnt expect to be able to hang with some of these purpose built cars but I was happily mistaken. Examples of some of the other entrants included a 2006 z06 makin over 550 rwhp on hoosiers, ls1 swapped 240z, and a very very fast Factory 5 cobra kit car.

I brought my michelin blues out and quickly realized that HSAX was a bad set up for these tires. They remained cold the whole lap. I tried and tried and continued to drift and spin out as I pushed the limits of these tires cold. But when they got hot….. holy ****! between them, the power provided by AMS and the turning confidence from STANCE the car was by far the fastest thing at the track! As the time sessions began my first out was a 1:24.5 i believe, not that great. As I pitted I was told that on that cold slick I probably wouldnt be able to beat my street tire times of last year. Well I had a hard time excepting that and shaved 4 seconds the next lap and then one more second after that! My fastest lap of the day was 1:19.1 and I was the fastest car all day untill the cobra hit a fast lap of 1:18.7. My time was good enough for second in my class and second fastest car overall! It was an awesome event and went way faster then expected! Are next MCSCC event is June 6th, and will be held at Autobahn Country Club at there North course. I will hopefully be mounted up on Hoosier A6’s as was most of my class at this event. Hopefully I will secure my first win In the very fast class of AR.
